“Across the room”
I love you from the doorway, your presence alone shakes me, my soul yearning to break the silence, every glimpse of your heart melts mine. There is a manner in your speech that stills the world, that draws me in- No sonnet could outmatch your grace that lives beneath that quiet grin.
Across the room, your eyes find mine- a quiet, aching fault line, splitting the world between us with nothing more than a glance. You speak no words, yet I hear them all:
the wish, the war, the wonder.
there is a gravity in your gaze, that pulls me from my place, though I do not move, I dare not, we dare not.
You belong to a world, I promised not to touch -and I… wear my silence like armor.
But still… we meet in the middle, in that sacred hush, where longing hangs like lanterns in the dark.
oh how cruelly sweet it is- to love someone with just your eyes, to feel someone without a single touch, to love someone without saying a word. And lose them, and with every breath you take to pretend you don’t.
The pain I see, I wish to take away from you, the war in your mind I wish to silence, I wish to love you like you deserve, to show you what true love feels like, without condition or reason, to love with every fiber of my being. With no judgment or cruelty, no harsh words or slander, to show you that you may feel broken, but you make my heart whole. In another world I would be your peace, you would be my joy, and our love would burn brighter than the sun.
